Training for BPA Member Companies

The British Pyrotechnists Association (BPA) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, knowledge, and professionalism within the UK fireworks industry. To achieve this, the BPA provides dedicated training and approval for its member companies so that they are qualified to teach and administer the BPA Firework Firers Training Scheme.

Only BPA member companies are authorised to deliver and assess this training. Each approved company undergoes comprehensive instruction to ensure that courses are delivered consistently, accurately, and in line with the Association’s strict safety and quality standards. This approach ensures that everyone involved in the BPA Firework Firers Scheme receives professional and standardised training across the UK.

The BPA Firework Firers Training Scheme is also accredited by City & Guilds, one of the UK’s leading awarding bodies. This accreditation means that the course content, delivery, and assessment methods meet nationally recognised standards for vocational training. As a result, successful candidates earn a qualification that not only demonstrates professional competence within the fireworks industry but is also recognised across other sectors for its quality and rigour.

Through this structured training system, the BPA continues to support its members in delivering safe, skilled, and spectacular firework displays.

Below is a list of BPA Member Companies who can run a BPA Firework Firers Course and Examination, as well as a list of Lecturers who are approved to teach the course. This list is periodically updated.

BPA companies wishing to be accredited should contact the BPA Administration Office.

If no date is presented, there is no expiry date for that approval.
