{"id":5002,"date":"2022-10-08T05:32:20","date_gmt":"2022-10-08T04:32:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pyro.org.uk\/?page_id=5002"},"modified":"2025-10-21T13:41:49","modified_gmt":"2025-10-21T12:41:49","slug":"application-for-bpa-membership","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/pyro.org.uk\/?page_id=5002","title":{"rendered":"Application for BPA Membership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The British Pyrotechnists Association (BPA) is the trade association for professional firework and pyrotechnic display and associated companies in the UK.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>All BPA members operate to a <a href=\"http:\/\/pyro.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/BPA-COP.pdf\">BPA Code of Practice<\/a> and are committed to raising the professional standards of their companies and their firers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2025 membership criteria<sup>\u00a7<\/sup> and fees are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A significant turnover on professionally fired firework and\/or pyrotechnic displays or associated activities<\/li>\n<li>Full year insurance covering public and product liability for displays and employers insurance for all work (including preparation, storage and transport)HSE or Local Authority licenced facilities as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>Commitment to the BPA Firework Training Scheme<\/li>\n<li>A Dangerous Goods Safety Advisor (DGSA)<\/li>\n<li>ADR trained drivers<\/li>\n<li>Adequate fusing facility \u2013 note that companies will still need to comply with, for instance, transport regulations for the fused product<\/li>\n<li>The 2025 fees for membership are \u00a3650 (+ VAT)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All BPA members are required to complete an application form including additional questions prior to acceptance. If you are interested in becoming a BPA Member please click<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pyro.org.uk\/bpa-application-form\/\"><strong>\u00a0here<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0to download an Application form<\/p>\n<p><strong>Notes:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Incorrect use of the logo will be considered a serious disciplinary offence<\/li>\n<li>Required ADR drivers \u2013 Should be commensurate with the number of vehicle movements subject to ADR<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits of membership include:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Access to wealth of experience and information from other members<\/li>\n<li>No fewer than three, but usually four, meetings to which all members are invited \u2013 a chance to air views, formulate policy, and to interact with some of the most famous names in the industry.\u00a0 Active, private, website and forum for members<\/li>\n<li>Active public website and forum, open to all \u2013 a useful place to seek views and promulgate information to non-members<\/li>\n<li>Representation on various Government, Industry and other committees including:-\n<ul>\n<li>British Standards Institute (CII\/47)<\/li>\n<li>CEN Working Groups (European Standards)<\/li>\n<li>European Fireworks Association (EUFIAS)<\/li>\n<li>Pyrotechnic Articles Liaison Group (PALG)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>BPA office manned to provide consistent information to press and other enquiries<\/li>\n<li>BPA information sheets highlighting industry developments, press statements etc<\/li>\n<li>Close links with other industry bodies including TESA, EIG and BFA<\/li>\n<li>Access to \u201cBPA Box Matrix\u201d scheme \u2013 a flexible packaging scheme for the firework and pyrotechnic industries (this scheme is subject to a deposit to BPA and to VCAs fees)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><sup>\u00a7<\/sup> C<\/strong><span style=\"font-size: 20px;\">riteria differ depending on whether memberships is for a professional firework display company, a pyrotechnic display company or for an company associated with the display industry.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The British Pyrotechnists Association (BPA) is the trade association for professional firework and pyrotechnic display and associated companies in the UK.
